Adult cyclist riding at speed along new walkway right on the line separating pedestrians and cyclists which he is supposed to stay on the other side of not ride along. Suddenly swerved left onto the pedestrian path missing a pedestrian by a gap so small we were walking behind and thought they had hit the pedestrian. No reason to ride so close/into the pedestrian path there wasn’t another cyclist in sight.. They were both travelling in the direction Petone to Wellington so cyclist had good visibility of pedestrian due to coming up behind them at speed, pedestrian who was inside the walking part of the walkway had no idea the cyclist was coming since they approached silently from behind.
